2020 - what a shocker.
Enough said for now. Let's focus on the good bits...
Soooooooo, we had the absolute pleasure of managing to capture four fabulous couple's weddings in 2020 (ha coronavirus!). The first, and only 'pre-Covid19' wedding of Kelly & Mike managed to have it's own excitement with February's Storm Ciara at the Wooladon Estate, Launceston giving the tipi's a good test of their strength but they stood firm and a great party (of 200 evening guests - remember those days!?!) was had by all!
Fast forward then to October when Phoebe & Ben's New York wedding plans cancelled last-minute and a perfect, intimate ceremony of 13 guests was held at the gorgeous Brickhouse Vineyard, nr Exeter. They carried on afterwards for a private meal but I cannot wait to meet them again to meet their new little pup, for a family/pet shoot when we're allowed!
Lockdown II was announced just seven days before Elizabeth and Ian were due to marry in November, so the fourth (and final!) date change moved their special day forward three days to beat the restrictions with family, friends and suppliers all pulling together to make it a day of dreams. There was even a fly-by of a flock of Canadian Geese at the church as the sun set! A super cosy (and yummy!) reception was held over the road from the church at Agricultural Inn, Brampford Speke, who's Dining 'Pods' show how dealing with social distancing challenges can be done so well!
Lastly, from the dreams of a Guard of Honour of 16 swordsmen, to a final congregation of an intimate 13, Jo & Darryn were not going to let a pandemic get in the way of their very special day! The sun shone, the ceremony was 'Zoomed' to their wider family and friends, there were (happy) tears, the sunset was epic and the veil got stuck on the bell tower of the church! (I've never seen that before!) I do need to send my congratulations to Jo's grand parents, who have been married for an astonishing 71 years (yes, 71!) They are an inspiration to us all!
Following are a selection of some of our favourites from these four special weddings, including just how a face mask CAN look chic (tip - try them on BEFORE the big day..!) I hope that you enjoy and if you've got a wedding planned, be strong, keep excited, stay safe - it WILL all be fabulous!
