FAQ's

WHO ARE YOU? 

I am professional photographer Mel Roach and my assistant (aka 'husband') is Justin. We are based near Torquay in Devon but are very happy to, and do travel to shoot gorgeous weddings all over the South West and beyond. 

DO YOU WORK AS A TEAM? 

Yes, we do! We love to capture the whole story of the day and it's lovely for both of the wedding couple to see what they were up to on the lead up to the big 'I do'. From the ceremony onwards we capture the day from two viewpoints - from the front and back of the church for example.

WILL WE MEET YOU BEFORE OUR BIG DAY? 

Definitely! Our most popular wedding package includes a visit to the venue(s) and an engagement shoot.  It does't matter if I've been to the venue a hundred times before, I will still meet you there as everyone is unique and you may have different ideas of how you want your photos taken there.  This also gives us the opportunity to get to know each other a little more before your wedding day, talk through the good (and not-so-good) weather photographic opportunities and discuss timings. Once you are all excited about the day, we'll pop out and do an engagement shoot somewhere locally to banish those 'I hate being photographed' nerves. It's all very lighthearted and a bit of fun hopefully! 

DO YOU OFFER DIFFERENT PACKAGES? 

We have a selection of packages available to suit most budgets. Please see the 'Pricing' page for further information. 

WHAT CAMERA EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

We use Canon cameras which are all interchangeable, carry a selection of lenses and flashes and always carry spares. 

ARE YOU INSURED?

We sure are! Public Liability and Indemnity Insurance certificates are available on request. 


'Wedding Day'

IT'S RAINING - WHAT DO WE DO?

Do not panic! We've already have the plan if this happens and photos in the rain are fun anyway - we carry a couple of nice brollies and a colourful pair of wellies look great! It very rarely rains all day, and even if it does, we'll do our best to work around the weather to achieve stunning photos. 

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE UNWELL? 

We will do everything within our power to be there, but if one or both of us really cannot be at your wedding, we have a fabulous network of suitability qualified and experienced photographers who we would call on to see if they could step in and cover the day. 


Post "Wedding Day'

WE'RE SO EXCITED TO SEE OUR PHOTOS - WHEN CAN WE EXPECT THEM?

After the 'Big Day', I go away and lovingly develop, colour correct and edit every single image that will be presented to you.  This can take three to four full working days, but it's important to revisit a collection with fresh eyes over a number of days to ensure the best final portfolio.  In peak season, we advise that images will be with you within four weeks, but on average I try to send within two to three weeks if possible.

CAN OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS VIEW THE IMAGES ONLINE?

Yes they certainly can! In addition to your sparkly USB of images, you will also be sent a link to a password protected gallery that you can share with your nearest and dearest. They will also be able to purchase prints direct from the gallery! See an example gallery HERE >>>
